Soon the two families shared many weekend outings and eventually started doing weekly chores together, such as laundry and grocery shopping. One weekend, when the children were away visiting with their other parents, David invited Jennifer for a motorcycle ride. Hanna Rucker plans to attend Mt. San Jacinto College before heading to nursing school.

David and Jennifer Warren are seated. She said he seemed happier and was enjoying life more with the Ruckers in it, so she encouraged the relationship. Today the Hemet residents, now teenagers, are part of the same family — thanks to their efforts to get their divorced parents to fall in love. The couple married in March The girls were maids of honor and Cody Warren, now 14, was one of the best men in the wedding party. The next day, when she overheard 9-year-old Julia discussing her favorite TV show, she changed her mind. Hanna, frequently ed Julia and her younger brother Cody, when their dad took them on camping trips and other outings.

She likes to say that Hanna is the daughter she gave birth to and Julia is the daughter that was born in her heart. Hanna Rucker said she always wanted a sister and she and Julia often discussed the prospect of what would happen if their parents got together.
That was followed by dinner and dessert. The newly blended family moved to Hemet before the girls started fifth grade together. That led to more time together that weekend and beyond.

Julia and Hanna were friends who helped bring their divorced parents together to start a new family. When he dropped her off, he asked if he could take her to breakfast the next morning.
The Warren family is seen at its home in Hemet. Julia Warren said she knew before her father did that he was in love.
